Lynne + endings

In 2017, we (Tom and Lynne) were appointed to co-lead Student Soul. We have thoroughly enjoyed it. For 2018 and 2019, Tom was an intern, training for ordained ministry in the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand (PCANZ). He graduates from his internship in December, which means he is available for a full-time “call” to a church. As well as her SS role, Lynne has been working part time for the University of Otago since 2018, lecturing in the Theology Programme.

Changes are afoot!

A “ministry settlement board” has met and discerned that Tom will be called to Student Soul as their full time minister. This is exciting news! It is good news for SS, because Tom will be freed to dive into the ministry of Student Soul and provide continuity to the work we have been doing together. And it is good news for Tom and Jen, Ariella and Elijah, because they get to stay in Dunedin!

At the same time, Lynne has been offered an increase in her hours at the University. While this is also exciting news in many ways, it is tinged with sadness because it means that she will be finishing at SS at the end of the year. Which is sad. Happy and sad, all mixed in together.

At some stage we will thank Lynne for her ministry at Student Soul in some formal-ish way. Involving food.

You can keep in touch with Lynne via her website or on Facebook.
